Thursday, August 6 Summer Concert Series — The United States Army Old Guard Fife & Drum Corps and U.S. Army Drill Team
Performance by the United States Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps and the U.S. Army Drill Team at the National Museum of the Marine Corps - Parade Deck (Outside on the Front Entry Plaza).

The Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps is part of the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard). The Fife and Drum Corps is stationed at Fort Myer, VA. The musicians of this unit recall the days of the American Revolution as they perform in uniforms patterned after those worn by the musicians of General George Washington's Continental Army.

The U.S. Army Drill Team is a precision drill platoon with the primary mission of showcasing the U.S. Army both nationally and internationally through breathtaking routines with bayonet-tipped 1903 Springfield rifles.

The Museum galleries, Tun Tavern restaurant and Museum Store will remain open until 7pm. Concessions will be available.

FREE Admission. FREE Parking. Bring your fold up chairs, picnic blankets and friends and family!

Monday, August 10 Special Event — Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Resource Exhibit
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) will be hosting a Resource Exhibit at The National Museum of the Marine Corps and Heritage Center. The purpose of this Exhibit is to provide literature, awareness and education to interested Service members, Veterans and Families on VA Health Care, Benefits and Employment Programs.  The Program Managers from the Washington, DC VA Medical Center will be on-hand to help answer your questions about health care as well as enrollment in My HealtheVet.  A Veterans Benefits Representative will be present to answer any questions you may have about Disability Compensation, Education Services, Home Loans and eBenefits.  A National Cemetery Administration representative will be present to answer questions about Burial and Memorial benefits, as well a representative from the Veterans Employment Services Office and more. Sunday, August 16 Special Event — History in Your Hands (HIYH)
HIYH is a tour for visitors of all ages who are blind or have low vision. HIYH is an opportunity to tour the collections through tactile exploration of selected objects, and through verbal description, tactile graphics, and other materials for artifacts that cannot be touched. Trained Museum volunteers and Visitor Services staff lead these tours. There is no fee for this program, but pre-registration is required. Registration for the monthly program closes 1 week prior to the tour. A Joint Symposium

Join us for a reflective examination and discussion about the role of aircraft in the Vietnam War and the service and sacrifice of the airmen who fought. Scholars and veterans from around the country will discuss the role of air combat operations in Southeast Asia from 1964 to 1975.
